From a memorable beach vacation to last night's supper, you'll probably have thousands of photos on your iPhone that capture the most important moments of your life (and even the most insignificant moments).

Thanks to the "memories" feature of the photo app, you can look back on those memories little by little, but sometimes you'll see images that you don't want to remember.

The "Memory" feature also allows you to create short videos by periodically displaying some of the best shots of the past in the photo widget on your home screen.

However, you may not want to relive the anniversary you spent with your ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend, or see the smile of your sister who is no longer talkative.

With iOS 15 and iPad OS 15 (now in public beta), Apple is finally changing that.

You can now choose to reduce the frequency of people and memories you don't want to see, or delete them altogether.

how?

Here's how to do it.

iPhoneやiPadの「思い出」で、見たくない写真を削除する方法

Open the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad and go to the "For You" tab. "Memories" and "Recommended photos" are displayed here, so you can specify the people and places you do not want to see.

For "memories", tap the "Menu" button with three dots, and for "Recommended photos", press and hold to display the menu.

To remove a photo from "Recommended Photos", select "Remove from Recommended Photos". Alternatively, if you select "Reduce recommendations for this person", that person will only appear in group photos.

If you have more than one person in your photo, you have the option to specifically select the person you want to hide. Select the person you want to reduce the frequency of being displayed or do not want to be displayed again, and tap the "OK" button.

Another way is to remove a specific person from "Recommended Photos" or "Suggestions".

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Photos app and go to "Albums". Here, find "People and Locations" and select the people you want to reduce the frequency of your recommended photos.

Tap the three dots "Menu" button in the upper right corner and select "Reduce (name of person) from recommended photos".

Select whether you want to remove it from "Suggestions" or just don't want it to appear too often, then tap the "OK" button.

To permanently remove the person from the "Recommended Photos", select "Remove (People) from People".

People removed from the People section will no longer be linked to your contacts and will no longer appear in your Memories or Suggestions.
