Meanwhile, Huawei was also about to release the folding smartphone "Mate X" in June. However, according to THE VERGE, he has postponed the schedule to September. Huawei told CNBC and The Wall Street Journal that the reason was the failure of the Galaxy Fold. Currently, they are conducting extensive testing for consumers. What will the OS be equipped with?

However, what is worrisome is the OS installed in this Mate X. As you may know, President Trump has restricted the import of Chinese products for some time, and a trade war has broke out. Huawei is registered in the "Entity List", a list of companies subject to export bans on US products, so Google, an American company, will not be able to provide Android OS.

Interestingly, there are two stories about the operating system on Mate X.

CNBC said Huawei said, "We announced Mate X before it was listed, so we can use the Android OS." But on the other hand, THE VERGE said, "The Wall Street Journal stated that'this issue (editor: whether Android can be installed) is under discussion.'" THE VERGE summarizes, "It is not clear if Android can be installed."

It is reported that Huawei is developing its own OS (HongMeng) in case the Android OS cannot be used. But according to CNBC, Huawei also commented that "it will be ready in 6-9 months." If Android couldn't be installed, wouldn't it mean that it wouldn't be in time for the September release and that there was no OS to install ...? Further postponement?

In a fierce headwind

Huawei has a stormy headwind, both politically and technically. When Mate X comes out, it is a super expensive product of 2,600 dollars (about 280,000 yen), and the price hurdle is also high.
